Just In Time Jazz Combo

In the summer of 2024, Michael Heany (founding member and former piano player for the band), approached Rejan (vocals), and asked if she would like to sit in on a jam session with David (guitar) and Murray (double bass).  She said “sure!” and the first song they played together was the jazz classic Just in Time, and the Just In Time Jazz Combo was formed!

Vocals - Rejan grew up listening to the timeless melodies of the Great American Song Book and loves interpreting these classic songs for audiences in fresh and new ways. Rejan performs regularly at venues around Victoria as part of Just inTime and other jazz combos. 

Piano - Judith studied classical piano until the end of high school and has always loved many types of music. After exploring flute, guitar and African drums as a young adult, she came back to piano years later to further her keen interest in jazz. Judith enjoys the camaraderie of playing with others and performing with the Just in Time jazz Combo as well as other jazz ensembles.

Guitar - David's childhood home was filled with the Broadway music his parents enjoyed. Later on he took the curious leap to playing and performing bluegrass around Southern Alberta. Since coming to Victoria David has expanded into gypsy jazz and jazz standards.

Double Bass - Murray played bass guitar as a teenager with his father’s big band and  some garage rock bands. He switched to double bass a few years ago studying with the amazing Joey Smith.  Murray is currently enjoying playing and performing jazz standards in duets and small combos.
